Midlands: Top '15 Tight Ends

FRISCO, Texas -- Scout National Analyst Greg Powers has a pre-2014 season look at the top seniors in the region position-by-position...

Rank Rating Name HS State HT/WT Commit
Top Midlands TEs
http://media.scout.com/media/image/134/1340636.jpg 1 Jordan Davis Clear Lake  Texas 6'4.5/254 Texas A&M
Junior Eval: Davis is a jumbo framed tight end prospect who is very light on his feet. He already has adequate size for blocking, but will really surprise you with his route running ability and hands.
http://media.scout.com/media/image/132/1322557.jpg 2 Hale Hentges Helias  Missouri 6'4/230 Alabama
Junior Eval: A fantastic two-way talent from the 'Show Me State'. He could be a valuable addition as a tight end or as a defensive end. On defense, he is quick off the ball and long.
http://media.scout.com/media/image/132/1326750.jpg 3 Hanner Shipley Marble Falls  Texas 6'5/275 LSU
Junior Eval: He is a bigger-framed athlete at receiver for sure, but there is no doubt that he is a tremendous blocker. He has a great on the field attitude, playing hard snap after snap and doing what it takes.
http://media.scout.com/media/image/136/1363130.jpg 4 Josh Moore Olathe North Sr  Kansas 6'5/250
Junior Eval: The best part of his skill set is his incredible strength. Despite his bulk at this stage, he still has the athleticism, speed, and agility to produce from the tight end position. His hands are also an asset.
http://media.scout.com/media/image/136/1363138.jpg 5 Austin Cantrell Roland  Oklahoma 6'3/240 Arkansas
Junior Eval: He runs well for a bigger sized athlete and even got some carries out of the backfield. On offense, he is athletic, but is also a very good blocker, which could be a combo that propels him to that side of the ball.
Best of the Rest: Kyle Markway, Donta Thompson, Chase Harrell, Hunter Herndon
