He did make three catches for 13 yards and a touchdown in limited spring scrimmage action. 2002 (Track and Field): He competed in the long jump and the triple jump in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. He earned a season-best indoor mark of 24-0.75 at the Missouri Southern Invitational. He finished fifth (23-11.50) in the long jump and provisionally qualified in the triple jump with a fifth-place effort (51-11.00) at the SEC Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, he garnered eight top-ten finishes. He won the long jump at the SEC Quad with a provisional qualifying leap of 25-2.50. At the SEC Outdoor Championships, he finished second and earned a career-best and automatic qualifying mark in the triple jump (54-0.00). He finished 14th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the triple jump (51-9.75). 2001: He started all 11 games at flanker and was second on the squad in both catches and yards with 38 receptions for 383 yards. He hauled in a team-leading five touchdown catches and averaged 10.1 yards per reception and 34.8 receiving yards per game. He earned three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown against UCF and led the Hogs with five catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns in their win over No. 17 Auburn. His two TD catches doubled his previous career TD total. He hauled in four catches for 27 yards and a touchdown in an upset win over No. 9 South Carolina, made five catches for 50 yards against Georgia and earned career highs in both catches (eight) and receiving yardage (93) against Alabama.
