Butler County (Kan.) Community College defensive end and Hawaii native Scott Smith (6-7, 275) talked…
No Decision Yet
So it's no surprise the 6-7, 275-pound standout wanted to get a good night's sleep - or two - after he got back to his native Hawaii before announcing a decision on where he will sign on Wednesday.
The Jayhawk Conference Defensive Player of the Year and mid-term graduate will land at either Arkansas – where he visited this weekend – or Texas Tech.
"I am going to make a decision at some time on Monday," Smith said before getting on his flight Sunday. "I had a great visit to Arkansas and I really can't go wrong at either place."
UPDATE: Smith did not announce his decision on Monday.
Smith had 69 tackles this season with 14 sacks.
He visited Texas Tech earlier and decided this past weekend's trek to Arkansas would be his last.
"I really liked it a lot," Smith said. "The weight room was great, the stadium was big-time and coming to Arkansas would give me a chance to play in the SEC, which would be great."
Smith, who was at California for a year, also liked what he found off the field.
"The players and coaches were great to be around," Smith said. "It's certainly different than Hawaii, but it's really cool and a very nice place to be. The fans really love their football team. That is easy to tell."
