FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas released its 2010 baseball schedule Wednesday afternoon, revealing a slate full of home games once again.
The Razorbacks, who finished 41-24 and won twice at the College World Series last season, will play 35 of their 56 games in Fayetteville in Baum Stadium.
Coach Dave Van Horn’s squad will get going one week earlier this year, as the NCAA moved up the start of the season. The Hogs will open the season on Feb. 19 at 3:05 p.m. against Ball State.
Arkansas
continues its nonconference portion of the schedule the next weekend with a visits from Troy and Kansas before heading west to take on California.
Home series with South Dakota State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee precede the beginning of Southeastern Conference action. Arkansas opens SEC play with a tough stretch — at LSU and home to Alabama.
Conference play continues for Arkansas with series alternating home and away. The Razorbacks will get Kentucky, Georgia, Auburn and South Carolina at Baum Stadium and travel to Mississippi State, Florida, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.
After opening SEC play in Baton Rouge, La., Arkansas will also play 11 more nonconference contests. Most notable are Arkansas’ game against Louisiana Tech at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock (May 11) and a home date with Oklahoma (May 18).
