An Elite Guest

Irving (Texas) MacArthur shooting guard Rickey Scott (6-4, 200), who has some 12 scholarship offers, was part of the Arkansas Elite Camp this weekend and has plans to be back in Fayetteville in September for an official visit.

Texas prep basketball standout Rickey Scott got a quick look at the University of Arkansas for the first time this weekend and will be back for more in September.

Scott, a 6-4, 200-pound shooting guard from Irving MacArthur, was in Fayetteville for the Arkansas Elite Camp and has an official visit set with the Razorbacks for Sept. 18-19.

"I loved it here," Scott said. "The facilities are great and the coaches showed me a lot of love. It's a great place."

Scott has Arkansas, Baylor, Missouri, Georgetown, Marquette and Texas Tech among a dozen or so schools that have already offered.

"I think OU (Oklahoma) is on the verge of offering me, too," Scott said. "I have some pretty good choices. I think I am going to get with my family and narrow it down to 5 pretty soon."

Scott is coming off a junior season in which he averaged 18.4 points and 6.9 rebounds and watched his number of 3-pointers made jump from 3 as a sophomore to over 40 as a junior.

"I feel really good about driving and getting to the basket because I don't think no one can stop me going to the hole," Scott said. "I need to continue to work hard to be a consistent shooter. I want to continue to shoot about 500 shots a day."

He played for Full Court Athletes on the AAU circuit this summer.

"It went really well and I think I am a much better player," Scott said. "I am really looking forward to going on some official visits, making a decision and then having a great season."
