POSTCARD FROM OMAHA

With temperatures outside in the low 90s Thursday in Omaha, Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn decided to take his players indoors. The Razorbacks worked out for about an hour at the Strike Zone indoor baseball facility in west Omaha.

The Hogs stretched, took batting practice and pitched mini-bullpens at Strike Zone, a 12-year-old building with batting cages, mounds and a weight room. Owner Joe Siwa smiled as little league baseball players stood around and marveled at the Razorbacks. For sophomore pitcher Sam Murphy, the trip to Strike Zone was a homecoming of sorts. Murphy worked out at the facility growing up in Omaha and even remembers dropping in on Arizona State and Stanford workouts during the CWS.
