Louisiana prep wideout Ricky Johnson (5-11, 185, 4.45) commits to the University of Arkansas on…
On the Move
Instead Johnson (5-11, 185, 4.45) of Lafayette Carenco had to hurry back home and help his family evacuate to Shreveport as Hurricane Gustav bears down on the Gulf Coast.
"It's supposed to hit where I live at about 1 on Monday," Johnson said. "So we are headed to Shreveport."
Johnson, who rushed for 1,296 yards, passed for 400 and also caught passes for another 330 yards all while finding the end zone 21 different times, was thrilled with what he got to see at Arkansas this weekend.
"I liked everything about my visit," Johnson said. "It was nice. They have great facilities. I got a chance to look at the campus, meet the coaches and I met some of the players. I really liked their passing game and I see they could use some receivers."
Johnson had planned to meet with the UA coaches and commit on Sunday, but being forced to leave early kicked that back a day.
"I am supposed to talk the coaches on Monday and we are going to set up my official visit," Johnson said. "I am probably going to commit during that phone call."
His school is closed through at least Wednesday.
