Marcus Monk, the Razorbacks' 6-foot-6 senior, saw action for the first time last Saturday, and for only one snap. Monk should play more Saturday at Ole Miss. True freshman Crosby Tuck emerged as Monk's replacement early in the season, but an elbow injury ended his season. Plus, sophomore tight end Ben Cleveland is redshirting because of a nerve problem in his neck.
But no other receivers have stepped up in their absence. In fact, Arkansas' three leaders in receptions are running backs Peyton Hillis, Darren McFadden and Felix Jones. London Crawford leads the receivers with seven receptions in six games. Robert Johnson and Reggie Fish each have six catches.
The Razorbacks need Monk more than ever.
