Jamaal Anderson earned the starting spot at left defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons with a solid preaseason.

The first-round draft pick finished with 13 tackles and two sacks. Anderson got both sacks against Cincinnati.

Anderson's college teammate and second-round pick, Chris Houston, is slated as the backup to eight-year veteran Lewis Sanders at right cornerback.

Anderson and Houston are two of nine draft picks who made the 53-man roster.

A Little Change

Former Arkansas wide receiver George Wilson is now working at safety for the Buffalo Bills. Wilson is listed behind starter Donte Whitner at strong safety on the depth chart.

Wilson's position change comes after spending most of the past two years on the Bills' practice squad.

Paving The Way

Shawn Andrews and Jason Peters are getting a reputation as two of the top offensive linemen in the NFL.

Peters started all 16 games at tackle for the Buffalo Bills last season and was named to the SI.com Monday Morning Quarterback All-Pro team. He saw some action at tight end in the first seven games of the 2005 season, catching a touchdown pass against Houston and making five tackles on special teams.

Peters started the final nine games of the 2005 season at right tackle.

Philadelphia's Andrews earned Pro Bowl honors last season and was also an All-Pro pick by five organizations. The 2004 first-round pick was part of an offensive line that allowed just 28 sacks -- the team's lowest total since 1981.

Miller Time

Cincinnati's Caleb Miller is listed as the backup to Landon Johnson at weakside linebacker. The third-year pro played in every game last season, making seven starts. He also posted the team's two highest single-game tackling totals of the year with 16 on Nov. 19 at New Orleans and 15 on Oct. 1 vs. New England.

Jonesing For Jacksonville

Jaguars wideout Matt   Jones will start the season as the backup to Earnest Wilford. The former Arkansas quarterback played in 14 games a year ago with four starts. He led the team 643 receiving yards and 41 receptions for four touchdowns. He has posted three 100-yard receiving games in his two-year NFL career.

Hanging Around

Keith Jackson Jr. and Darius Vinnett are part of the practice squad for the St. Louis Rams.
