FAYETTEVILLE -- A bad week for Jerrod Carroll got worse at approximately 2:58 a.m. Tuesday, as the former Arkansas redshirt freshman outfielder was booked by the Johnson city police on charges of driving while under the influence of alcohal and drugs, leaving the scene of an accident and property damage.

Carroll -- a 5-foot-10, 182-pound Abilene, Texas, native -- started off a bad week when he was dismissed from the Razorbacks baseball team prior to the arrest. According to the UA Sports Information Department and coach Dave Van Horn, Carroll failed to show up for Arkansas' game against Illinois State on Sunday and was removed from the team the next day.

After redshirting in 2006, Carroll -- who was being used primarily as a backup to center fielder Jake Dugger -- had played in only four of the Razorbacks' 12 games this season before his dismissal, hitting just .167 with no home runs and one run batted in.

Carroll was released on an $1,850 bond and will appear again before the Johnson City Court on March 19.
