Four Hogs Named to SEC All-Freshman Team

FAYETTEVILLE -- Four members of Arkansas' freshmen class were recognized Thursday when Southeastern Conference coaches released their all-freshman team.
Receiver
Marcus Monk
, punter Jeremy Davis and offensive linemen
Robert Felton
and
Matt Gilbow
earned spots on the 27-member team. Mississippi State led the way with five players selected and Georgia tied with
Arkansas
for second with four.
Monk made one of the biggest splashes in the conference this season, catching 37 passes for 569 yards and 6 touchdowns in his first year with the Razorbacks. He earned his first career start during Arkansas' 38-20 loss at Auburn on Oct. 16 and grabbed 25 passes for 368 yards and 2 touchdowns in his six starts.
Felton started the final five games (4 at right tackle, 1 at left tackle) on an Arkansas offensive line that replaced five starters from 2003. Gilbow also earned two starts and was pressed into duty at right tackle after junior
Zac Tubbs
sustained a season-ending broken ankle before the Auburn game.
Davis replaced sophomore
Jacob Skinner
during the Auburn game and handled punting duties the last six games of the season. Davis, who averaged 39.2 yards per kick, was one of five unanimous selections to the all-freshman team.
Florida linebacker Brandon Siler, Tennessee defensive back Roshaun Fellows of Warren, South Carolina defensive back Ko Simpson and Georgia place-kicker Andy Bailey also were unanimous selections.
All four Razorbacks -- along with cornerback
Michael Grant
-- were named to The Sporting News' All-Freshman team earlier this week. Grant wasn't recognized on the SEC team in a defensive backfield that included Fellows, Simpson, Jonathan Hefney (Tennessee) and Mario Bobo (Mississippi State).
