Two-out hits Lead to Arkansas Win
The Razorbacks collected four two-out runs and three pitchers combined to toss a three-hit shutout as Arkansas beat Missouri 4-0.
Chris Oliver allowed two hits and one walk while striking out five batters in six innings. The right-hander improved to 7-4 and lowered his ERA to 2.63 this season.
Zach Jackson retired all six batters he faced in relief of Oliver, while Michael Gunn got into a little trouble in the bottom of the ninth, allowing a walk and a hit before closing out the game.
The game was scoreless until Joe Serrano hit an RBI-double in the fifth inning. Andrew Benintendi followed with a two-run single to give the Razorbacks a 3-0.
Serrano was the only Arkansas player with multiple hits in the game, going 3-for-5 at the plate.
Bobby Wernes added an insurance run in the sixth inning on a RBI-single.
Arkansas will go for its first SEC sweep of the season Saturday afternoon. Freshman Dominic Taccolini will make his second career start. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. and the game will be televised on CST.
