Lady Vols fall on road to Mizzou

The Lady Vols' perfect mark in the SEC came to a halt in Missouri with an 80-63 loss to the Tigers. Go inside for a quick and free recap.

Tennessee (17-5, 8-1) suffered its first SEC loss of the season to a band of inspired Tigers from Missouri (15-8, 4-5).

Missouri sunk Tennessee with 11 long balls and took advantage of the Lady Vols' lapses on defense to erase a three-point deficit at halftime, 37-34, and outscore the Lady Vols by 20 in the second half.

Kamiko Williams led Tennessee with 14 points - all came in the first half before she went out early in the second with a right ankle injury - and the Lady Vols struggled offensively without her in a display that coach Holly Warlick called "selfish" basketball.

Tennessee had just six assists - two from Williams, three from Ariel Massengale and one from Jasmine Jones.

Morgan Eye led all scorers with 26 points - she was 6-12 from long range - and Bri Kulas had 20 points with Liz Smith adding 10.

The Lady Vols remain on the road in the SEC and will next face LSU in Baton Rouge on Thursday. Recommended Stories
