Hartfield Flips to Arkansas
Hartfield (5-11, 185, 4.4) became the fourth player in just over a month to pledge to sign with the Razorbacks after previously being committed elsewhere.
"I just felt like I belonged there," Hartfield said after his official visit to Arkansas concluded. "I just felt welcomed. It just felt like a good fit."
Part of that was the reception he got from Razorback fans he met during the visit.
"The way the fans opened their arms to me was great," Hartfield said. "I just came down here for a weekend and it was like I was at home."
Hartfield said he had 12 catches for 412 yards and six touchdown this season while playing in a run-oriented attack and going both ways.
"I feel like I run good routes, play well off my blocks and do whatever a receiver needs to do to be successful," Hartfield said.
He told Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema of his desire to be a Razorback on Sunday morning.
"He was happy," Hartfield said. "He was surprised that I was ready to go ahead and commit. (This visit) kind of made it easy."
Harrtfield could be catching passes in the future from fellow official visitor Damon Mitchell, a New Jersey prep quarterback who goes by Duwop.
"Duwop I think will be doing the same thing (committing)," Hartfield said. "He is very, very smart, a very intelligent guy."
Hartfield was hosted by wide receiver Demetrius Wilson.
"He told me that he really liked the new coaching staff and like what they were bringing," Hartfield said.
