Practice Report: 11/28

Left guard Chance Warmack nicked up his finger against Auburn last weekend and had his hand heavily taped up at today's practice, but it did not limit him in any way as he and the offensive line continued to prepare for Georgia's defensive front.

Alabama spent the third consecutive day practicing in the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility Wednesday. Head coach Nick Saban probably wanted to get his players used to playing on turf this week, as that's what they'll be playing on Saturday in the Georgia Dome when they take on UGA for the SEC Championship crown.

The media was granted two periods to watch practice, so here are some observations:

--Wide receiver Chris Black is working behind Kevin Norwood at the ‘Z' position like he has been all week. He was in a normal jersey, but wore a harness-like brace to protect his shoulder. This week Saban said that the staff will "revisit" the decision whether to redshirt or play him now that he's been medically cleared for activity and contact. Scuttlebutt amongst the media is that he'll dress for Saturday's game, but will only see playing time if the Tide is in trouble.

He's looked quick and crisp all week, like he's ready.

--Left guard Chance Warmack, who was named to the AFCA FBS Coaches' All America Team today (along with Dee Milliner and C.J. Mosley), looked like he had a small pillow wrapped around his left hand. He said he "nicked up" his finger against Auburn and is just being extra cautious this week. You can see his heavy wrapping and watch how it doesn't affect him as he and the offensive line prepare for Georgia's defensive line, and Jarvis Jones, in the video below. (Warmack is No. 65.)

--Running back Eddie Lacy also had his hand heavily taped, but it didn't limit him, either.

--Nose guard Brandon Ivory (ankle) was again, not doing much, but it was also hard to tell during media viewing. Saban said Monday he'd be fine in two-three days.

--Athletics Director Mal Moore watched practice from the sidelines.

Saban will address the media later this evening and likely give updates on injured players heading into Atlanta.
