Trevell Dixon from Baldwin (La.) West Saint Mary was at one time a Nebraska commitment. Dixon committed to Nebraska sight unseen and is now reconsidering his position with the Huskers. Dixon was finally able to see what Nebraska had to offer on an official visit to Lincoln this weekend.
"On Friday they showed me around the campus and the facilities," Dixon said. "I got a chance to hang out with some of the players. Alonzo Moore was my host and he's from Louisiana. I knew of him before I got to Lincoln this weekend.
"On Saturday morning they took me on a tour of the facilities and the academic center. Their facilities are awesome. There really isn't anything that you could ask for when it comes to their facilities."
The recruits made their way down onto the field for warm-ups, back into the locker room right before the game and then back onto the field for the tunnel walk. Dixon was surprised how many of the fans there knew who he was.
"It surprised me how many people knew who I was when I was on the field and coming out for the tunnel walk. The tunnel walk was awesome. It just doesn't get any better than that."
Many are interested in where Nebraska sees Dixon fitting in because there are already two safeties on the commitment list. It should make sense now and after this weekend Dixon thinks that he could really fit in at the position where Nebraska likes him.
"I am actually being recruited as a wide receiver by Nebraska. I was told that this weekend and I like the idea of playing receiver. I can really see myself fitting in as a receiver and they have some players there now that I would compare myself to."
There was a great chance for Dixon to get to hang out with the head coach at Nebraska this morning. "On Sunday I got up and ate breakfast with Bo Pelini. We went and shot some pool too. He showed me around after that for a while."
Dixon initially committed to Nebraska sigh unseen. He subsequently decommitted and now took a visit. After all that, Dixon came away very impressed with Nebraska.
"This was my first trip to Nebraska and I would give the visit a "10". It was a little windy and a little cold, but overall it doesn't get any better than that.
"Nebraska is one of my top choices. I am going to visit Arizona State and maybe TCU or Houston. I don't have a list of favorites, but I know that there is a really good chance I go there (to Nebraska)."
