"I de-committed from North Carolina tonight," Reed said.
"I just felt like I needed to weigh my options."
Reed now favors two schools.
"If things do not work out with Ole Miss then I'm Florida bound."
The Gators let him know Monday night that he had a spot waiting for him.
"They came to my school a couple of weeks ago to see me, and I sent them some film, and they let me know Monday that I had an offer. I plan on going down there for an official visit to check things out."
Reed took Ole Miss-Vanderbilt on Saturday and came away impressed.
"I just love the Grove, fans, and their IPF caught my eye. They showed me the new plans for their practice facility and it's really nice. They have really nice facilities there at Ole Miss, and a few of my teammates are going there (Maurice Bennett, Darious Cummings, Nick Brassell). I'd like to continue playing ball with those guys. I talked to several of their coaches tonight after I de-committed from North Carolina, and they told me they're looking forward to building a close relationship with me."
Reed has also been offered by California, Arkansas, Texas Tech and Mississippi State. Cal-Berkeley is expected to come visit Reed at his school next week.
"Cal wants me and Maurice Bennett to come out there for a visit. We're going to see what they have to say when coach (Todd) Howard visits us."
Reed has played in nine games this season and collected 35 tackles, one sack and four tackles for loss on a star-studded defensive line. He will have four years to play three on the next level.
