Huskers host punishing runner

Nebraska is looking to grab at least one running back in the 2013 class. The latest to visit Lincoln is Adam Taylor from Katy (Texas). What does his coach have to say about Taylor the player and his visit to Nebraska?

Adam Taylor is one of the most highly touted running backs in the Lone Star State. Taylor, 6-foot and 210-pounds, gets high praise from his head coach who took the time to catch up with BigRedReport.com today.

"He runs extremely hard," head coach Gary Joseph said. "He's a violent runner. Adam is a downhill runner who runs north-south. We work with him primarily out of the Pro-I, do some two-back and the pistol."

Having a player like Adam on the field is one thing when it comes to the tangibles he brings to the table. Then there are the intangibles, the leadership, and Coach Joseph says that Taylor is as good as he's ever had in that department.

"Adam is a real fine leader for this football team. He has an ability to will our kids. When we get in trouble Adam puts them on his back. He's one of the best leaders I have ever had on any of my football teams."

Every player that comes out of high school making the jump to the top of DI football needs to work on something. Taylor's coach said that there is something that he's been working on, but he's already getting better at it.

"Adam is going to have to work on his pad level. He's getting better at it and it's a work in progress. He's a one cut back. He makes a cut and then explodes. That is exactly what he needs to do in college."

Husker fans are interested in hearing about Taylor's official visit to Lincoln this weekend. Bottom line is that Taylor doesn't do very many interviews, but Coach Joseph was able to talk a little bit about Taylor's experience.

"Adam took his official visit to Nebraska this past weekend. He told me that it was a good visit and said that he was really impressed with the facilities at Nebraska. He will still make some other trips after the playoffs."

Katy has their first playoff game this week when they take on Houston (Texas) Westbury.
