The 6-foot-3, 265-pounder, is back at it again in 2012, holding down his spot at left tackle for the 5-3 Hawks, and he feels that he has made some progression on the field as a sophomore in 2012.
"It is great here," Rogers said of his experience playing under the tutelage of Brian Brazil at Hebron. "We have great coaches. They coach us up on what to do and it is just great to play 5A football in Texas against the best players in the country on the high school level."
"Last year I did not have the raw strength because I was just a freshman, but I got so much stronger I the off-season and it is just getting easier and easier for me to move people. I spent time in the off-season improving on pass rush and just getting better and better."
Two BCS offers this early in the recruiting process is a huge honor, especially for an offensive lineman.
"That was awesome," Rogers said with a smile. "It was kind of crazy for me because I never thought it would happen this early, but I got Arkansas and Tech after those camps. It is great to know that they believe in me and that I can play college ball. It has always been a dream of mine."
"They are saying that my game has been good and that they just want to keep watching game film on me and kind of see how I progress and see how I would fit in with their program. They think I would probably fit in on the interior, that is what they tell me."
Hebron will square off against Lewisville (Texas) this Friday in a 5-5A District clash.
