Talented freshman played 28 games but never started in 2011-12.

LSU head coach Nikki Caldwell announced on Monday that forward Krystal Forthan will be transferring from the Lady Tiger program.

“We are disappointed that Krystal is leaving the program, but we wish her the best in her future endeavors,” said Caldwell. “She requested a release and we have granted it to her.”

Forthan, a native of Portland, Ore., averaged 5.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game during her freshman season. She played in 28 games and was twice named the SEC Freshman of the Week.
