Arkansas adds a top-notch offensive lineman as Glendora (CA) Citrus College standout Jason Peacock …
Peacock's Early Arrival
But instead Peacock (6-5, 325) was in California making sure that he would be in Arkansas in just over a month.
Peacock is taking a college court at Glenora (CA) Citrus College that will allow him to enroll at Arkansas on Feb. 11 and thus be able to go through spring practice.
"It's an eight-week course that I have been taking that will finish up in time to allow me to get to Arkansas by Feb. 11 and enroll," Peacock said. "It's big for me because I can get there, get school started, start learning the plays, go through spring practice and be prepared to play next season."
Peacock thought he was going to have to be at Citrus for a full semester before finding out that his college had a course offered in a mini-semester that would fulfill the SEC's needed requirements.
He would join Springdale Har-Ber's Brey Cook (6-7, 310), slated to enroll at Arkansas this month, in giving the Razorbacks two new tackles to go through the workouts.
"I am just really making sure to get my work done so I can get to Fayetteville and get it going there," said Peacock, who chose Arkansas over Mississippi State, Texas Tech, Utah and Houston.
To illustrate that point, Peacock studied during the first half of the Sugar Bowl, a game the Razorbacks fell behind 28-7.
The Georgia native then watched the second half and was excited and then dejected as any other Arkansas fan.ssippi State, Texas Tech, Utah and Houston."
"It was an upset to me, but I can't say enough about how our guys came out and played that second half," Peacock said. "That really showed me a lot. I just knew we were going to pull it out. We just needed one more play.
"What I do think is that it will make us work harder in the offseason and we are going to be right there competing for a national championship next season," Peacock said. "I really believe that."
